Luxury Holidays to Bali

Bali’s reputation as a paradise Island is fairly unsurpassed, though it is worthwhile exploring the centre and north of the island to find total seclusion. The standard of accommodation is unquestionably one of the highest in the world and new resorts are always springing up, raising the bar even higher.

Bali - MapTraditionally, Bali has a reputation as a beach holiday destination, or to chill in the chic hill resort of Ubud, but there is also plenty to see and do on luxury Bali holidays, aside to pampering and soaking up the sun, should you want to explore.

Ubud offers a fine art scene and other creative work such as local handicraft, and generally has a very relaxed vibe and cafe culture, not dissimilar to Chiang Mai 25 years ago. The area is beautifully lush and you can absorb the views of tiered paddy fields that are some of the finest in Asia as you wend your way up towards the town. If you are looking for luxury Bali holidays with a little more action, you can indulge in some white water rafting, in the same area, and the Ajung river will actually take you right past some of Ubud’s most exclusive resorts perched high on the banks above.

Then there’s Tanah Lot, the temple built in the 1500’s just off the west coast. Surrounded by water at high tide, it is quite a sight. North Bali offers a different side of Bali, away from the more popular south and you can see plantations growing vanilla, chocolate, coffee, cloves, and even wine grapes. Near the village of Banjar is a popular hot spring where you can take a bath in the natural pond. Visit Lovina’s black beach before you pass the old capital of Singaraja on the way to Git Git, famous for its multi-tier waterfall. Kintamani volcano is another spectacular sight, and you can cross the crater lake of this still active volcano.

Luxury holidays to Bali are most commonly associated with Bali's famous beaches, with the bulk of them stretching all the way up the west coast. Starting in Jimbaran in the south, with its fantastic beach seafood shacks barbecuing their food over burning coconut shells, through buzzing Kuta to the luxury resorts of Legian and Seminyak, the beach just keeps on going. Dotted along it are not only some of the finest beach hotels in Asia, but also some of the finest restaurants. La Luciola, Gado Gado and the incredibly chic Hu’u restaurant/bar/club are 3 of many fine dining options but although they are the top of the tree, they won’t break the bank.

Ultimately we can make our tailor made holidays to Bali as active or inactive as you like, but it’s great to have the choice. We can also arrange bespoke tours to the neighbouring island of Java.
