Yai Ya

Hua Hin, Thailand

£1,150 per person per week including flights, private transfers, and breakfast.

Location

Opened in late 2008, the concept of the unique yet charming design of YaiYa was based on minimalism and space with a touch of tradition. The lobby area also has an art gallery with many pieces of art on display and also for purchase. All the rooms, villas and suites combine modern vivid bright colour schemes, clean fine lines with modern technology to create an ambience of calm, space and relaxation. YaiYa is  the brainchild of Duangruedee and Krisada Rojanakorn with Krisada at the helm of design and concept.

YaiYa (meaning "Grandmother" in Thai) is ideal for couples and families alike and is located directly on the beach surrounded by tropical gardens. It is approximately 5 minutes from the centre of Hua Hin, so, close enough to all the shops, restaurants and temples, yet far enough for guests to enjoy privacy and relax and unwind.

Hua Hin is on the Gulf of Thailand approx. 2.5 hours from BKK airport by car. The stylish contemporary Thai-architecture is surrounded by lush tropical gardens and a wide, beautiful fine sand beach that is ideal for long walks or relaxing on.

Dining

The ThaiPas restaurant is a specialised “home-cooking” style restaurant featuring mouth-watering menus from private recipes of the owners. Selected fresh local organic ingredients are used for a one-of-a-kind tasty yet healthy dining experience. The restaurant itself is a wooden Thai contemporary open air structure in the garden adjoining the beach and next to the pool with a cosy relaxing décor.

The Kangsadan Bar and Lounge is adjacent to the restaurant and also doubles as the poolbar on the side bordering one end of the pool. Guests can also enjoy the semi-private ambience upstairs for lazy afternoons, sundowners or just to enjoy the seascape with a constant lulling breeze.

On the beach is the SandBar making sure that none are dehydrated by serving up the coolest and most refreshing drinks under the sun!

For those who want to dine in private, a superb room catering service would be the right choice. Villas can also opt for a private barbecue evening in-villa with attending staff.

Final Word

Hua Hin is Thailand’s oldest resort town which Thais and visitors alike have enjoyed over a long time. Its charm lies in the beaches, hills, people, food, golf and numerous activities plus natural, cultural and historical sites. The close proximity to Bangkok adds to its appeal and nostalgia can be experienced in the local architecture, especially the train station and the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course, which is Thailand’s oldest.

YaiYa is just outside Hua Hin town so the hustle and bustle can be kept at bay, but can be accessed easily. The beach is semi-private, the resort being situated on a strip inaccessible to the public, so no hawkers and gawkers.

For that time-out you deserve, YaiYa has it all..
