Luxury Holidays to United Arab Emirares

The United Arab Emirates is made up of seven states which includes Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al-Kaimah Dubai and the region as a whole make for an excellent luxury destination. The city of Dubai is one of the most thriving urban areas in the world today. It has become a global centre of commerce, trade and, of course, tourism.

Dubai has earned a reputation as a place with a vast amount to offer, but one of the most stand-out attractions is the shopping. No luxury Dubai holidays are complete without sampling some of the exceptional opportunities for retail therapy. Some of the bustling commercial areas have earned Dubai the nickname "Do Buy." The region has been heavily based on trade for much of history. Today, there are many shopping centres to be found in Dubai, especially in the city. Dubai Mall is the largest in the world, covering more than 12,000,000 square feet.

The area is home to some excellent Souks. These markets, common in North African and Middle Eastern countries, are known as a place to buy almost anything. Their bustling, buzzing crowds are an unmissable experience, and you may also come away with some excellent food. Haggling is expected, but rest assured that it is all good-natured and friendly.

Luxury holidays to Dubai also benefit from a number of fascinating historical sites. The districts of Old Dubai such as Al Fahidi include plenty of fascinating historical buildings. Narrow lanes and large courtyards are complemented by traditionally-built buildings with wind towers (a sort of early air conditioning). These buildings form a stark contrast with the glistening, ultra-modern skyscrapers of the modern city.

This combination of old and new building styles makes Dubai a truly fascinating place to visit architecturally. The various traditional and elaborately-designed mosques also add an extra dimension to this experience. Jumeirah Mosque, the largest in Dubai, can be visited by non-Muslims, though a guide is required. A truly spectacular place to see, this mosque is built in a medieval tradition.

Visitors who want their tailor made holidays to Dubai to include a little adventure should take in and enjoy an unforgettable desert experience. Several desert conservation areas can be found less than an hour's travel from the city of Dubai by road. There are a number of ways to experience the desert, such as dune surfing and camel riding. For greater comfort, an air-conditioned jeep safari is also an option. The desert is not as barren as it first appears, and you may see wildlife such as gazelles and onyx.

The attractions in Dubai are too numerous to name. Other draws include Dubai Museum, with exhibits up to 4,000 years old, the Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, and the world's tallest building the Burj Khalifa.

Ras Al-Kaimah is a new and upcoming destination located just 45 minutes from Dubai International Airport. With 64km of white sandy beaches Ras Al-Kaimah has several very good value family friendly resorts that make the perfect winter sun get away.
