On the shores of Lake Pichola stands Udaipur’s newest luxury hotel.   This is a modern design classic which also shows local influences and is heavily embellished with Thekri work, gold and silver leafed motifs adorning the walls and ceilings. With its inner courtyard and sandstone colours, its a little Arabic looking.

All the rooms are incredibly generous in size, starting at c. 60m2, and all have some view of the lake. The beds are very comfortable and the doubles are huge. The bathrooms all have closed off toilet cubicle, power shower and 2 vanity basins with a separate terrazzo bathtub in between the bedroom and the other parts of the bathroom.  The room amenities are very well suited to leisure and business travellers alike with great entertainment systems, a nice writing desk with every adaptor and internet connection you could imagine and a 2 seater sofa. Some of the rooms also have a large terrace balcony which is a nice addition to the space.

There are 2 main restaurants, the dining room more geared to international and Sheesh Mahal to authentic Indian cuisines.

 

Both deliver excellent quality with presentation and service to match and both have al fresco options which is nice for the winter months when the temperature is very bearable even in the day, and with no rain, no insects to bother you !
