Khao Yai is a little known area an hour and a half north east of Bangkok. Its home to Thailand's best game park, offering a safari experience in the middle of Thailand. There are many animals to see including wild elephants, tigers, asiatic black bears, macaques, sambar deer, gibbons and gaur.

The park is also home to the now famous Heo Suwat waterfall featured in the film The Beach. yes, its here, not on the islands where most of the beach scenes are shot !

This fascinating area is also the capital of Thailand's beef and dairy industry and Thai cowboys can be found rounding up cattle in the lush rolling hills nearby.
