Skiing in Japan – Niesko/ Hirafu
Introduction
It might just be the best kept secret in the world, but we don’t feel too guilty blowing the lid on this one. Japan, quite simply, has the best skiing in the world, bar none. That is the purists view anyhow and is an accolade given even before considering the brilliant facilities, hotels, hot springs and food that are all part of the Japanese ski experience.
The area we concentrate on is Niseko Village, on Japan’s northern most island Hokkaido. Here there are 2 of the finest hotels in any of the ski fields of Japan, which have recently been united as sister hotels, giving further benefits and amenities to the guests of each property. Nearby are the bars and nightlife of Hirafu and other ski slopes.
The 2 hotels in question are The Greenleaf and The Hilton Niseko, both offering 5* standards but with differing attributes at each one offering something for everyone.
