Location

Samaya Bali’s sister hotel, tucked up in the cooler hills near Ubud, is the perfect compliment to their beach property of you want to absorb yourself in Bali’s cultural capital or simply want a different topographical location.

Whilst cooler, it’s all relative in Bali and you’ll still enjoy 30 degrees during the day, it is just cooler at night which is actually very pleasant.

Rooms

4 Villa types are available. Hillside Villas, Ayung Villas (for a small premium) with view of the river, two 2 bedroom Royal Villas and one 3 bed option.

The villas all have classical Balinese high V-shape ceilings running the length of the villa and are decorated in contemporary creams, whites and tan brown wood. As is standard with the Samaya brand, they all have their own swimming pool and large bathrooms as well as gazebos by the pool.

Spa

The brand new 5 room spa area, located in its lush environs above the river, will lull you into a deeply relaxing state. Having so many rooms for so few guests will guarantee you treatments when you want which is often an issue at other resorts, so take advantage and pamper yourself extensively!

Dining

The resort’s fine dining restaurant, “Scene”, will aim to evolve constantly, with the seasons, with fashion and above all, to its clients tastes. The menu specialises in seafood with the coast only 30 minutes away, you can be sure the fish is fresh daily and cooked in a modern eclectic way with some Asian influence in some of the dishes. (Only open for dinner)

“Swept Away” is less formal and a great place to have a relaxed lunch while watching the Ayung River snake past. Open for breakfast lunch and dinner, you can enjoy drinks and snacks, Asian Tapas or a full blown 3 course dinner or lunch. It’s a testament to the resort’s commitment to giving choice that they have 2 proper dining options in such a boutique hideaway and to offer the variety they do in each menu further enhances the strong culinary offering here.

There is also a Chef’s Table situated in the wine cellar which is perfect for a private dinner and again they go out of their way to satisfy all tastes witn a tailor-made menu you can discuss with the Chef.
