Location

Sympathetically built over one of the most spectacular Atolls in the area, the Anantara is spread over 4 islands making it a unique property in the Maldives. You can do your very own close quarter island hopping by bridge or small boat, depending which island you are hopping to.

Rooms

The main accommodation is based on 2 islands (Dhigufinolhu and Bodo Huraa), and whichever you choose you will not be disappointed as the standard of the rooms is exceptional, as you would expect from this small boutique chain. You have the choice of beachfront villas or overwater bungalows, and there are 2 of each which have private pools. The over-water bungalows all have direct access to the sea making this a magical way to start your day. Each room has a flat screen TV, mini-bar, air-conditioning and 24 hour room service.

The crème de la crème of the rooms is situated on the nearby Naladhu Island. Only 19 beach houses are situated here on an island of 25,000 square metres and each comes with its own House Master. More than just a butler at your disposal 24 hours a day, these attentive assistants will take care of every need you could have. Anyone staying here has access to all the facilities on the other islands but no-one from the other 2 main islands is permitted on Naladhu. Each residence has its own indoor and outdoor bathroom, private 8 x 4 infinity pool, wine cellar, gourmet mini-bar plus indoor and outdoor day beds, and at 2,700 square feet each, there's still plenty of room to spare after fitting all that in. Spa treatments can be taken anywhere you please if you stay on this island – the beach, your room, your veranda or by your pool. Unless you are fortunate enough to know someone who owns their own island, Naladhu is as good as it gets.

Dining

There are plenty of dining options to choose from in the resort in general, ranging from cafe style, to Italian and Thai offerings, as well as a beautiful seafood restaurant serving fresh fish scooped from the very sea surrounding you. One of the ethics demanded by the Male government and environmentalists alike is that any resort built here is self sufficient so any food or energy used in the cooking of your meal, or for any other activity used during your stay in general, is sustainable.

Guests on Naladhu have their own exclusive restaurant where you can even specify the menu you want. The Thai restaurant is on the 4th island which forms part of the bridge between Naladhu and Bodu Huraa island – a very magical dining experience.

Spa

If the setting alone is not enough to send you into a dream world, the Spa certainly will. The 14 treatment rooms are spread over 2 of the islands, some over the lagoon and some in lush rainforest retreats. There is a large range of massage and holistic treatments, as well as beauty therapies and the menu has an Ayurvedic flavour to it, in keeping with the neighbouring countries where that practice began, India and Sri Lanka.

Other activities available are tennis, deep sea fishing, 2 large infinity pools, kayaking and snorkelling, sailing, diving, Yoga on the stunning beach, or even some Thai cookery lessons from the chef.

If you are looking for total relaxation in an idyllic beach setting with all modern conveniences and a great Spa experience, then the Anantara Maldives has it all. Their unique hospitality will turn a great stay into a perfect one and before you know it, you'll be coming back for more – and a stay on Naladhu Island may simply mean that you never leave in the first place...
