Location

With the excitement of being right in the heart of the Golden Triangle, this unique property enjoys the best vantage point of any hotel in the area, overlooking Laos to the right and Burma to the left. Anantara is tucked away on it's own private estate, an area large enough to accommodate it's own elephant camp ! This renowned camp exists to help elephants and their mahouts (elephant caretakers) who are unable to take care of and support themselves.

You can visit the elephants at your leisure and if you would like to go a step further than feeding them, the mahouts (elephant caretakers) will teach you to ride one bare back, just as they do. You may even get to see some baby elephants. If you love elephants then Anantara is a must. For every booking at this hotel, we will donate £5 to the elephant camp. Other, many, diversions include visiting local hill tribes, visiting the fascinating Hall of Opium museum across the road, swimming in the stunning infinity pool with Jacuzzi, cooking classes, or a visit to the fitness centre. The dining facilities are first class.

Rooms

There are 2 categories of room: Deluxe Room (58) and Suite (19). The rooms are equipped to the highest standard and the Anantara Suites are particularly good value for their space and features. All rooms have an oversized terracotta bathtub. The pool setting (with infinity pool and Jacuzzi) is unrivalled anywhere else and the dining facilities first class.

Spa

As for the Spa, it is difficult to find better views or atmosphere from your treatment room. You can enjoy herbal baths on a veranda overlooking the hills of the adjoining countries before being pampered into another world by the skilled therapists. The thai massage and Indian head massage are particularly recommended, from a choice of many treatments and spa rituals, and do not miss the 4 hand massage, performed by 2 therapists.
