Location
Located on the north west coast of the island, the Andaman lies on one of the most
idyllic beaches in all Asia and is hard to beat as far as beachfront locations are
concerned. When you arrive at the lobby, you know you’ve come somewhere special, its ornate and huge roof covering one of the grandest lobbies in any hotel we have seen worldwide.
Apart from the Spa and the beach, you can occupy yourself with water sports
(including diving and deep-sea fishing off site); then there is the 18 hole championship golf course adjacent to the resort. This child-tolerant resort has many dining options including the Japanese restaurant, traditional Malaysian and Indian cuisine, and also European.
Rooms
The 186 rooms cover 8 categories: Deluxe, Lanai Deluxe, Seaview Deluxe, Malaysian Suite, Japanese Suite, Executive Suite, Executive Suite Seaview, Presidential Suite. We recommend the awesome view from the Seaview Deluxe Rooms. Each room has a minibar, coffee and tea making facilities, writing desk and chair, individually controlled airconditioning, hairdryer, ceiling fan, in-room safety box, Nespresso coffee machines, DVD players and IDD telephones. Lanai rooms feature sunning decks with umbrella and are on the first floor.
Spa
The Spa here has one of the best vantage points of any that we have seen. Set high up on the cliff, most treatment rooms look out over Datai Bay and the deep blue sea. The Spa Menu does not have the longest list of holistic treatments, but we feel that the setting and the view make this a notable Spa, and the treatment quality is second to none as you would expect. You can also use the Spa facilities of its famous sister hotel, The Datai, which is just down the beach. The dining facilities of that property can also be used by Andaman guests.
The Andaman has achieved the combination of a high class beach hotel with a laid back atmosphere enabling you to really relax in 5* surroundings.
