Location

About an hour from the airport on the north western part of the island, the Busena Terrace is undoubtedly Okinawa's classiest beach resort. With it's unrivalled position on it's own beach, you can really enjoy great seascapes from your room whilst being reasonably close to the Aquarium, a must see for the whale sharks alone, and Ogimi Village, who's inhabitants have the longest life expectancy in the world.

Rooms

There are many room types here and as with most of our resorts we use the 2 nd category and upwards, the Deluxe Elegant, which at 43m2 is a decent size and has plenty of features in the room befitting a 5* property, and balconies overlooking the sea. Next up are the Gazebo Terrace rooms which are newly finished. They are quite exclusive, only 08 units existing, with a 72m 2 f junioe suite proportions having its own living room space, The real highlight is the garden area these units have with some decent grassy space and then the “piece de resistance” a giant hot tub housed in a 4 poster elevated gazebo. There are various other room types and suites in the main hotel but the next level up is really the Club area with private check in leading to a selection of top suites, cottages and villas. The area where the cottages and villas are situated is right at the end of the headland which the Busena sits and there is a very quaint beach that can only be reached by guests in this area. The basic cottages are really villas - mostly detached and with their own swimming pool with great views out to sea.

Dining

If you're staying at the Busena for a long stay you will not be disappointed with the choice of cuisine on offer here with no less than 8 great restaurants, from Japanese to Chinese and Italian. The Japanese is highly recommended and you can catch the chefs making the sushi and preparing sashimi (amongst other things).

Spa / Onsen

Okinawa not being on a volcanic fault line, there are no natural Onsen to be had but The Busena has reproduced an homage to the Onsen on mainland Japan and also produced a stunning Spa to go with it. Add to that an Aesthetic room for women and you have a complete relaxation set up.

Other

The beach here is beautiful and if water sports are your thing they literally have everything here. Add to that 3 pools (2 outdoor, 1 indoor) and an abundance of space, a gym, sauna and and underwater observatory that juts out into the open ocean, and you have a great place to stay. The service is excellent – polite, friendly and efficient.

Overall

The Busena Terrace is certainly the most complete and stylish beach resort on the island. Others pretend but fall short, often by the simple fact that they are built away from the beach, which is a fairly useless place for a beach resort to be. The beach at the Busena is extremely good and if water sports are your thing they literally have everything here.
