Location

Positioned in an enviable location - where a lagoon meets the ocean, (giving views of both the lagoon and sea) this idyllic beachfront setting, approximately 2 hours from Colombo airport, has the best of both worlds. The beach to the front of the property and the lagoon to the rear provide perfect areas for water sports on calmer waters and a traditional beach holiday.

General

The original architecture was designed by the world-renowned Geoffrey Bawa, and the low rise hotel has been finished to a high standard. There is a large swimming pool (and small children’s pool), and you will be hard-pushed to find better cuisine and themed buffets anywhere else on the island. As a break from Spa and relaxation, try water sports on the lagoon: windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, and kayaking.

Rooms

The 105 rooms are categorised as standard, superior (same size as standard rooms but have a sea or river view), and suites. We recommend staying in a suite, although all rooms are well-furnished. All rooms have bathroom with rain shower, TV and DVD. Inter-connecting rooms are also available.

Spa

The comment book at the Kani Spa by Amaan speaks for itself – one excellent remark and compliment after another. The therapists here have been carefully selected, some being from Indonesia and Thailand. The Spa has a wonderful setting, a short walk from the hotel lobby. As well as 5 treatment rooms there is a Jacuzzi and cold plunge pool. The treatments on the Spa menu have been well chosen, to provide harmony and balance. Choose from their signature aromatherapy massages, a warm stone massage, or a pick me up massage, to name just a few.

In our opinion the Kani Lanka provides a good combination of relaxing beach resort
with some entertainment laid on, coupled with a top of the range Spa facility.

26 extravagantly furnished suites plus one two-storey villa. These are built in the form of separate villas on either side of the rocky headland for maximum privacy. Designed in the best of traditional Sri Lankan style, the accommodation offers every comfort.
