Location

Situated close to Chiang Mai's temples and elephant camps, just 10 minutes from Chiang Mai city centre, and 15 minutes from the airport, the Mandarin Oriental is possibly the most ornate hotel you will ever see. There are a total of 123 Colonial Suites (5 categories of suite) and Villas (7 categories of villa). Spa

The Dhara Dhevi Spa is, quite simply, in a class of its own - pure luxury with all the treatments you would expect from a top Spa, and more. There is an Ayurvedic option here too, with a doctor on site permanently to advise on diet and combination treatments to get the best out of your stay. There are over 50 treatments to choose from, to restore physical and mental harmony. Programmes lasting from 1 to 21 days are also available, as are supervised courses in yoga, meditation, and tai chi.

Accommodation

Offering some of the world's most spacious and exclusive accommodation, our 123 luxurious villas, colonial suites, and signature residences have been locally handcrafted in keeping with traditional Lanna architecture, and feature extensive museum-quality artefacts and antiques. The villas open onto spacious open terraces, some of which feature private plunge pools or swimming pools. Exquisitely designed interiors and Mandarin Oriental's signature technology all contribute to an overall atmosphere of luxury and serenity.

Villas
Villas are authentic Northern Thai rice houses made out of teak wood. Each one is unique and has been converted to offer a luxurious blend of modern and traditional style accommodation.

The villas feature two floors with ample living space on the ground floor and resting space upstairs. Common features include a whirlpool tub, separate shower stall, outdoor deck or terrace and a Thai Sala (pavilion).

Colonial Suites
All these suites are located in the north-west area of the resort with tropical garden views in close proximity to the main hotel swimming pool, main lobby and all-day dining area. The suites are in a beautiful colonial style two-storey building. First floor suites boast spacious balconies, while ground floor suites enjoy direct access onto the lush gardens. Decorated in a charming colonial style, each suite features a bedroom and separate adjoining living room, as well as a large private veranda. The five-metre high ceiling enhances the guest's sense of open space and palatial living.

Signature Residences

Penthouse Residence
The concept and design of this suite is inspired by a royal palace in Myanmar with an air of colonial elegance. The unique feature is that the Penthouse Residence offers its own private spa comprising a spa treatment room and an indoor/outdoor massage areas where guests can enjoy exclusive spa services in the privacy of their suite. Additional features include a king-sized bedroom, living room and a dining room with a pantry.

The Royal Residence
A stay in the Royal Residence is an experience of a lifetime. Located in a self-contained area, the Royal Residence is a small ‘private retreat' and is ideal for guests who seek exclusivity and privacy. It comprises six bedrooms, three with a king bed and three with twin beds. The ancient palace style architecture epitomises a grandeur and opulence of a bygone age, whilst every modern convenience and facilities have been incorporated into the villa – spacious bathrooms, generous living room space, large dining room and pantry, all connected by a walkway. Three private pools and three Jacuzzis complete the picture of ultimate luxury.

Le Grand Lanna (Thai cuisine)

Speciality Thai restaurant with seating for 180. Cuisine is from both Northern and Central Thailand . Le Grand Lanna is set in a cluster of traditional Lanna style buildings. A Thai Classical Dance Show entertains guests nightly. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner.

Fujian (Chinese cuisine)

Chinese restaurant serving Imperial Chinese cuisine in an elegant two-storey Sino-Portuguese style mansion. Outdoor seating is available. Lunch is Cantonese and Dim Sum and dinner features contemporary dishes and a degustation menu. The restaurant seats 73 guests.

Farang Ses (French cuisine)

This opulent French restaurant serves Provençal cuisine featuring the fresh and aromatic flavours of the French countryside. Located next to the spa reception area overlooking rice paddy fields with live piano music each evening. Farang Ses is open for dinner only.

Rice Terrace

Serving a healthy spa breakfast and transforming into a champagne & wine bar in the evening, The Rice Terrace is located below the spa reception area facing the rice paddy fields. It can accommodate 54 guests.

Loy Kham Bar (Pool Bar) - Snacks & Beverages

Located at the Loy Kham Pool area, the Loy Kham Bar serves snacks and beverages poolside.

Akaligo (Mediterranean & Italian cuisine)

The restaurant offers buffet breakfast and a la carte dinner, and is situated next to the main lobby. Terrace seating is also available.

Horn Bar

Located off the main lobby and open every evening from 6 pm to midnight, The Horn Bar serves cocktails and fine wines. The interior of the bar features masks from different regions of Myanmar , depicting mythological characters.

Oriental Shop

Located in the Kad Dhara shopping village, The Oriental Shop sells homemade products and serves cakes, coffees, teas and juices.
