Location

On the palm-fringed west coast of Sri Lanka, approx 2 hours from Colombo Airport, the Neptune Ayurvedic Village is less well known than other Ayurvedic resorts but enjoys the same high standard.

General

There is a purely Ayurvedic restaurant (no alcohol served) and an entertainment programme ( cultural show, oriental music). There is also the option of using the swimming pool at the neighbouring Neptune Hotel, giving you the combination of an Ayurvedic break with a more traditional holiday, although guests are encouraged to stay within the resort whilst undertaking Ayurvedic programmes, in order to be able to relax fully. For guests who wish to see some of the island's wonderful sights, it is recommended that you take some time to do this before starting on your Ayurvedic programme.

 

Rooms

The resort has 20 rooms, and there is plenty of garden area to relax on your own, or with others. There are no televisions here, enabling you to remove yourself from everyday life for a while. Air conditioning is switched on in the rooms from 5pm to 6am to enable oils on your body during the daytime to be absorbed.

As soon as you walk into the Ayurvedic centre you will feel the calm and friendly atmosphere. All of the consultation rooms and treatment rooms are built around a central lotus flower pool. There is a serene yoga platform at one end where regular yoga and meditation take place, in keeping with the mind, body and spirit philosophy

Ayurveda

The Neptune Ayurveda Village offers 3 main programmes: Rejuvenation & Relaxation, Weight & Stress Management, and Ayurveda Panchakarma.

Your Ayurvedic programme commences with a consultation with the Chief Doctor – this is an absolute MUST - Known locally as something of a soothsayer he will reveal things about you and your life which will amaze you…

You will then be ushered off to a welcome foot treatment which is wonderfully relaxing and will put you in the right frame of mind to unwind from your journey. You will then proceed on your Ayurvedic journey, undertaking daily treatments which may include: Body massages, head therapy, acupuncture.

At the end of your stay you will be presented with a beautiful flower bath which unfortunately signifies that your stay is nearly over. A 2 week stay is recommended if possible for long lasting results.

The 20 fully air-conditioned bungalows are tastefully designed to provide maximum comfort to the guest. The open air restaurant will cater buffet meals with a fine variety of traditional and international dishes in keeping with Ayurveda. The restaurant overlooks a large pond with its own meditation and Yoga centre in the middle for maximum relaxation and serenity.

Sports & Recreation

To reach pool and beach you just have to pass the major Neptune building. At the beach nearly all kinds of watersports activities can be found and the regular operation of tours is a necessity and will be provided once you contact hotel reception.
