Location
This all villa resort on Bali’s classiest beach offers holiday makers the chance to unwind in immensely luxurious surroundings, not just in terms of the resort ambience but the size of the palatial villas.
This idyllic section of beach faces west for great sunsets and the resort itself feels open and very welcoming, an ambience you’d hope any resort would achieve but don’t. Add to this a very good spa and the privacy of your pool villa with all its mod cons and a romantic get away is guaranteed at Bali’s premier Villa Resort.
Finally, where Samaya stands out from the crowd is in its legendary service which has won recognition and rewards worldwide. Only the very best get nominated in the Travel Industry’s equivalent of the Oscars and Samaya has achieved that within only a few years of opening.
Rooms
There are 3 main room types in each of the 2 sections of the resort.
Garden Plunge Pool Villas and 1-2 Bed Royal Pavilions can be found by the beach and the new 1, 2 and 3 bed Royal Courtyard Villas are found just over the small single track road. The Garden Pool Villa lead in category start at 150m2 with Royal Pavilions at 275m2 and their 1 bedroom counterparts over the road a gigantic 300m2. The 2 bedroom units start at 400m2 with 3 bedrooms at 500-600m2. All in all, more 5* space for your money you will have trouble finding in Asia, let alone Bali itself.
The rooms are very chic but even so, the beach side rooms will undergo renovation from January-May 2010. The newer Royal Courtyard section are really up to date with the latest fixtures and fittings including Bose stereos and flat screen TV’s with the latest DVD technology for those romantic nights in. The biggest difference between the newer side of the resort and the original is that the Royal Courtyard Villas have proper swimming pools (11m x 3m) but again, during the updating they villas and pavilions with plunge pools will be updated to include a larger pool.
All rooms are equipped with:
• Air-conditioning • IDD telephone • Hair dryer • Indoor & Outdoor Slippers • Tea and coffee making facility • Internet Connection and wireless • King Size Bed • Mini Bar • In room electronic safety deposit box • Butler Service • 42" LCD TV with Satellite Channel • In bathroom LCD TV • BOSE Ipod docking
Spa
With its ocean view rooms, the spa gives you that special acoustic of crashing waves nearby as your expert Balinese therapist works your tired body into relaxed state before you finally drop off that tidal sound.
Enjoy 2-4 hour packages in solitude or as a couple and individual massage treatments such as Hot Stone massage, Balinese massage, Reflexology, Indian Head massage and the Samaya Special which involves 4 therapists working in tandem – pure indulgence.
Add to this a host of facial treatments and some of the best Ayurvedic practices (including the mind blowing Shiro Dhara) and any visit here will leave you completely unwound, rejuvenated and energised.
Dining
The main dining spot is Breeze, located right next to the beach. The atmosphere is very vibrant and its location perfect for a sunset drink before embarking on a culinary journey that will take you through Asia, Europe and a fusion of the 2 before arriving at the pure Indonesian menu which offers the famous Babi Guling (suckling pig) amongst many other local favourites.
There is a wine cellar offering 120 choices and over the road in the Courtyard, another Brasserie offers American and European cuisine throughout the day if you don’t want to move from your oasis.
Finally, while away the day by the pool with a selection of snacks and Tapas.
