Location

This little gem of a resort, just totally refurbished, is tucked away on the North East coast of Bali, away from the main tourist areas of the South, and it is the only one of this standard in the area.

Rooms

As soon as you arrive, you'll realise you've come somewhere very very special and the owners of the world famous Pangkor Laut have certainly put their stamp of quality on this place. The rooms are exquisitely designed and appointed, and have a very fresh open and calm feel to them, in keeping with this hotel's complete emphasis on Spa and relaxation.

Little extras around the spa garden area such as the half moon day beds, lightly shaded if you prefer, are just some of the excellent touches this resort has. The rooms (27 Kamar rooms, 2 suites and 2 plunge pool villas) are all sumptuous and take most of their furnishings from local craftsmen. They all have a fully stocked mini-bar, iPOD docking station, and luxury bathrobes as well as opulent marble bathrooms.

The views out to sea are amazing, but the view looking back is almost, if not more, breathtaking, with Mount Batur rising up out of the lush paddy fields and towering majestically over all before it. Lest anything should shatter the peace, the hotel has a strict child policy – over 16 years old only, and then strictly limited.

Spa

Every aspect of the resort's spa reflects one of four Discovery Paths; Balance, Creativity, Vigour and the Spa Village Academy, all immersed in the healing traditions of Balinese culture. This quiet sanctuary seeks not only to restore body and mind but also to replenish the soul through a range of programmes that you can choose from – we can talk you through the options.

Other activities include a tour of the art villages nearby, scuba diving a famous WWII wreck, day trips to Denpasar or Ubud (or indeed anywhere else on the island) and even squid fishing by night.

This unique resort is the boutique of all boutique hotels in our opinion. Small enough to feelquaint, but large enough to have a range of facilities and attentive staff to make you feel very well looked after. Get here quick before anyone else does !

27 SUPERIOR & DELUXE ROOMS

Simple elegance is the foundation upon which the 27 superior and deluxe rooms of the Spa Village rest. Echoing with the gentle traditions of Balinese culture, each room blends exotic grace with modern comfort. Against the vibrant landscape of the Spa Village , accommodation is transformed into a private haven where each bedroom connects to spacious marble bathrooms with sunken bathtubs. Beyond the sliding doors of every room, lie wide terraces or balconies that open up to an expanse of land and sea.

2 SUITES

The spacious rooms of the suites occupy the upper levels of the Spa Village . One, close to the luminescent pool, while the other, a few steps away from the slate-hued beach of Northern Bali . Both suites have a generous living area with stunning balcony views that range from the bougainvillea and frangipani infused gardens to the clear blue waters of the Balinese ocean.

2 VILLAS

Basking beneath the shade of palm trees, the resort's two villas are sanctuaries of peace with their own private plunge pool. The beds in the Villas are lovingly crafted with headboards of Balinese design. Light and airy, woven ceilings cover the underside of peaked roofs creating a personal environment of natural luxury where the serenity of Spa Village flows through, reflecting a fluid grace.

The Restaurant

The unique setting of our restaurant directly by the beach and high above the sea offers fascinating views out over the wide ocean. A large wooden carving on the rear wall combined with the comfortable rattan seating and teak tables rounds off the elegant ambience of the airy restaurant. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily as an “A la Carte” menu with selections such as Indonesian Fusion and Light Western cuisine. The Restaurant's special dessert menu changes daily. Guest may enjoy fresh local seafood daily. We also provide a vegetarian menu based on request.

Right on the beach, surrounded by palms, is the 20 x 12 meter midnight-blue infinity pool. From the four quiet “Bale” pavilions next to the pool with their deep mattresses, you can watch the sampans passing in a distance with their local cargo, or simply listen to the rush of the surf

The Boutique

Specialized gift items, offering unique Balinese and Indonesian crafts, exclusively selected for Spa Village Tembok Bali. Satellite TV can also be viewed here. 10am – 9pm daily

The Spa

The wide variety of massages and treatments available offer relaxation and recuperation for both body and soul. There are five treatment rooms available. 9:00am – 8:00pm daily

The Library
Home to a selection of books encompassing fiction and non-fiction, reference, travel and information. The Library is located in the Lobby.

Airport Transfers – Private transfers to and from Ngurah Rai Airport are arranged. Transportation is automatically arranged to leave from the lobby 5 hours prior to flight departure. Our Guest Assistant will reconfirm onward flights.

Private car hire or self-drive vehicles - complete with maps are available on request

Body Treatments

PENGANTEN MELUKAT 100 minutes
Traditionally in the village three days before a wedding day, the bride and
groom would be kept in their families’ home and could not leave the premises.
Their mothers would get them ready for their wedding by doing the Traditional
Melukat (Body Cleansing).
The treatment begins with Mewangsul (Traditional Balinese Massage) followed
by Meodak (Boreh Body Scrub). Then Empehan (Fresh Milk) would be applied
to the skin, leaving it feeling soft and moisturized. The treatment ends with
Mersiram Sekar (Floral Bath). This treatment is designed to purify and cleanse
the body, mind and spirit.

CAMPUR-CAMPUR 100 minutes
The name Campur-Campur means a blending of varieties in Malay. Combining
the best techniques of Malay and Thai massage, our special creation uses
touch, tone and aromatherapy to give you a memorable experience. During
the treatment, the scent of lemon grass and pandan leaves fi lls the air as
steamed herbs are pressed along the body using a traditional steam pouch.

Massage Therapy

Choice of Deluxe 50 minutes or Supreme 80 minutes

BALINESE
This massage combines historical reference from many cultures, especially
Indian, Chinese and European infl uences, which form the foundation of Balinese
traditions. The ritual offers techniques which vary in tempo of acupressure,
rolling motions, long strokes and percussion, providing an invigorating and
energising experience for the body.

MALAY
The art of traditional Malay massage is passed on from generation to generation.
The technique consists of long kneading strokes that focus on the muscles, and
pressure applied to various points on the body. This treatment uses oil made
with special local ingredients such as turmeric, cinnamon, garlic, onion and
citronella, that invigorate circulation.

FOOT MASSAGE
The theory of refl exology lies in the understanding that the feet have refl ex
points that correspond to the internal organs and limbs to balance all the
functions of the body. By stimulating these points, the circulation of the entire
body is improved.

Skin Care

MESIPAT (NATURAL FACIAL) 50 minutes
This Traditional Balinese Facial uses local herbs Kayu Cendana (Sandalwood)
and Tamarind leaves. This facial incorporates a Balinese facial massage using
mini fl oral pouches, and will leave your skin feeling naturally soft and smooth.

Nail Care

Well-groomed and beautiful hands and feet are a necessity for everyone.
Our natural manicure and pedicure includes nail and cuticle conditioning,
nail shaping and buffi ng.

Hair Care

MEKRAMAS (HAIR TREATMENT) 25 minutes
Coconut oil is traditionally used by Balinese for hair care. This treatment uses
Lengis Nyuh (Coconut Oil) and fried Tingkih (Candlenut) which the therapist
uses to massage the scalp and apply to the hair, then a mixture of Daun Pucuk
(Hibiscus Leaves) mixed with fresh Lidah Buaya (Aloe Vera) is applied and left
on the hair. This treatment is good for dry scalp, strengthening your hair
follicles, moisturising, adding shine and leaving your hair feeling

Wraps 50 minutes

Our wraps and masques have various therapeutic benefi ts, including hydrating
the skin, detoxifying, enriching with nutrients, countering the effects of sun
and ageing, or easing tired, aching muscles. The Wraps listed below are among
those offered at the Spa Village:

LAPIS-LAPIS (MALAY HERBAL WRAP)
In this treatment, a fresh mixture of lemon grass, ginger, galangal, and
camphor is applied to the body, which is then wrapped in warm sheets.
This is an excellent precedent to a Malay or Balinese massage. It helps
to detoxify, reduce water retention and relieve joint and muscle pain.

CUCUMBER ALOE WRAP
A superb after-sun smoothy! Anti-infl ammatory and highly recommended
for sun sensitive conditions.

PAPAYA ENZYME WRAP
Locally grown papayas have inspired this unique use of the fruit, gently
conditioning the skin and leaving you with a healthy glow.
