Location

In the north eastern corner of Langkawi, you will find this independent resort, with one of the best sunset views on the island. With 2.5 km of beach, Tanjung Rhu’s position is very idyllic and at low tide you can even walk out to the neighbouring islands.

Within the grounds you will find 3 swimming pools (one sand-banked), water sports,
tennis courts, 3 restaurants and of course, the Spa. The different dining options include a romantic beach barbecue or a sunset cruise with dinner.

Rooms

Within the 136 large rooms there are 4 categories, with sea, garden or pool view. The room categories are: Damai (50sq m with a garden courtyard view); Cahaya (60sq m with a garden view); Bayu (80sq m – Bayu Senja has sea view and Bayu Suria has pool or garden view); finally Anjung (100sq m with sea, pool or garden view. These rooms have the added luxury of an inroom Jacuzzi). All rooms have views of the sea, garden or pool through French windows. They are also equipped with multi-channel TV's, video and compact disc players, a private mini-bar,
oversized bath, in-room safe and a modern data port in Bayu Suites.

Packages sold by the hotel normally include full board but unlike a lot of full board or “allinclusive” deals, this means you can literally dine anywhere in the resort and choose from the full a la carte menu.

Spa

With a fully qualified doctor on site all the time, the Spa here takes itself and its' guests very seriously, combining some Ayurvedic therapies and principles with traditional Malay, Asian and western treatments, and the results are amazing. Some of the many treatments here include: Thai massage, Balinese massage, Ayurvedic massage and there are yoga and tai chi sessions. There are 12 treatment villas spread over 3 acres in beautiful gardens and this makes it a quiet haven for those taking treatments.

This independent resort has been carefully thought out and has definitely one of the best beach-side positions in the country.

SANDS
A beach front restaurant, suitable for all day dining. Offers a variety of Western and Asian cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The wood fire pizza is also served here.

SAFFRON
Where the colours of the sea, sun and land rule, Saffron has a Mediterranean menu to complement the eastern cuisine. The restaurant also has an “Al Fresco" section with an unencumbered view to witness Tanjung Rhu Resort's stunning sunsets.

THE READING ROOM
A quiet haven with magnificent views complemented by an extensive collection of books. There are also collections of compact discs and videos, which you may enjoy in the privacy of your own room. Also serves Hi-tea, your choice of beverages encompasses a wide selection of freshly ground coffees (Brazil Bourbon, Hawaiian Kona, Colombian Excelso, etc.) and teas (Earl Grey, Darjeeling , Chamomile etc.)

Transportation

Langkawi Island can be accessed by boat from Kuala Perlis and Kuala Kedah where the mainland jetties are located. Malaysia Airlines, Silk Air and Air Asia have daily flights into Langkawi International Airport from Kuala Lumpur , Penang, Johor Bahru and Singapore .

The resort can arrange chauffer driven Daimlers. You can also charter licensed taxis (it is wise to determine the fare prior to your trip, as there are no meters). Alternatively, you could rent cars, motorcycles, vans or bicycles. The resort has its own vehicles for self drive hire.
