Why Choose Vietnam for Your Next Holiday?

Published:

Vietnam is a wonderful yet frequently underappreciated holiday destination. The country is especially notable for its spectacular, unspoilt natural scenery and for some of the most wonderful coasts and beaches in Asia.

Vietnam has a long history, having been inhabited for centuries. Over the years, the country has developed a fascinating and distinctive culture. Most of the cultural influences in the country are unique and indigenous, but there are also elements of Chinese culture as well as some Western influences.

Following significant social and economic advances, Vietnam began to take off as a holiday destination in the 1990s. Today it is still relatively undiscovered by tourists, but treasured by those who are lucky enough to know about all the country can offer.

Experience Halong Bay from the sea...

One of the most popular destinations in Vietnam is Halong Bay, a truly beautiful coastal area which is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many luxury holidaymakers choose to experience Halong Bay from the sea, with a stay on a cruise ship such as the Halong Violet. The Halong Violet is a wonderful ship in the style of a traditional junk. It benefits from several luxurious suites, onboard spa and dining, and 1930s-style Indochinese décor. For many, this distinguishes it as the best way to experience the beauty of Halong Bay while immersing yourself in the local culture.

Indeed, much of the luxury tourism scene in Vietnam centres around the country's incredible scenic coast, and it is in this type of location that many of the finest resorts can be found. Fusion Maia Resort is close to another coastal world heritage site, Hoi An, but this area is in many ways unlike Halong Bay. Hoi An is a spectacular coastal city, and a great place to experience the local culture while benefiting from a wide range of local amenities. However, the resort itself is located a few kilometres outside the city, allowing guests to benefit from peace and seclusion while still having easy access to the heart of Hoi An.

Fantastic resorts positioned by the Vietnam coast...

The renowned Six Sense Group also has two fantastic resorts positioned by the Vietnam coast. Six Senses Con Dao boasts the same scenic sandy beaches that define so many other resorts, but it is also set against a unique inland background of mountains carpeted with lush jungle. Six Senses Ninh Vanh Bay, on the other hand, is located on a wonderful peninsula with extremely fine beaches and an air of secluded tranquillity. It is, however, only a short journey from the city of Nha Trang, the province's capital with a huge variety of attractions on offer. The resort itself offers a range of different villas set in different aspects of the bay's scenery, such as the Hill Top villa, the Beachfront Pool Villa or the Rock Pool Villa.

Additionally, some of the best beaches in Vietnam are to be found around the Da Nang / Hoi An area where you can luxuriate in some iconic resorts like the Nam Hai (now Four Seasons Nam Hai) or a more local resort like The Victoria.

If you like your Spa treatments, then look no further than the Fusion Maia Resort in the same area, Vietnam's first all inclusive spa resort.
