Sandoway Resort

Ngapali, Burma

From £1,650 per person for 7 nights with flights.

LOCATION

The Sandoway is located on the gold sandy beaches of The Bay of Bengal in the Burmese resort of Ngapali in the state of Rakhine.  Still relatively unknown as a destination and lacking the infrastructure of most Southeast Asian resorts Ngapali is an absolute charm.  Expect friendly locals waving as they pass you by and Ox drawn carts plodding up and down the beach.

Touring & Exploring

Ngapali is a functioning beach so it’s certainly worth walking along and meeting friendly locals and fisherman.  Bikes can easily be hired to explore further afield and the local towns and villages are of relative interest.

Ngapali works well with more complex and involved Burmese touring itineraries and The Sandaway is the top beach property in the country.

Travel Information

The Sandoway is around 30 mins transfer from Thande which is the closest airport.  Regular flights operate here from Yangon (Rangoon) and also from the northern town of Sittwe.  Currently there are no direct flights from the UK to Burma so it's necessary to go via a major Asian hub such as Bangkok or Singapore into Yangon.
