The Peninsula

Tokyo, Japan

Prices from £2,260 per person (sharing double) for 4 nights including flights, trains and breakfast.

Japan - MapLocation

The Peninsula Hotel is in the heart of Tokyo overlooking the Imperial Palace Gardens and moat commanding some of the finest views in the city from the best rooms. Custom built from scratch, it only opened its doors in September 2007 and is still Tokyo’s newest top end hotel. Ginza’s shopping district is a few minutes walk away, as are the Imperial Palace, Hibiya Park and the Maranouchi district, making this a great base whether your interest is cultural or business.

Rooms

There are 314 rooms, including 47 suites on 24 floors, offering impressive views of some of the city's most notable landmarks. Modern and contemporary with Japanese-inspired accents, each guestroom and suite blends traditional Peninsula standards of comfort and innovative technology with elements of Japanese heritage and culture.

Dining

There are 5 main dining options within the hotel.

Spa

The hotel ‘s Spa is spacious 8000 square feet housing 8 treatment rooms, a swimming pool, saunas, relaxation areas, steam rooms and hydro showers. The Spa is run in conjunction with ESPA, who add an extra layer of expertise and finesse to the menu and operation. They offer some Ayurvedic treatments which is very unusual in Japan, along with a huge range of conventional treatments for body, face, feet and hands. You are recommended to arrive at least 50 minutes before your treatment for a full consultation. They encourage you to book a time slot rather than a specific treatment, and further to the consultation, they will recommend a treatment based on how you feel then and how you would like to feel after treatment, a great approach from our holistic point of view.

All in all, you will be in for a great experience here, and there are some half and full day programs that will really make a difference, particularly the Jet Lag Eliminator, a 4 hour treatment that will set you well on the way to avoiding the time difference and giving you more time to enjoy Tokyo's sights, shops and restaurants.

Overall

For a stay in arguably the most up to date hotel in the world, you can't beat the Peninsula for location, service, food and a great Spa. Where else would you find a swimming pool, mobile phones you can take from your room and a fleet of custom made Rolls Royce's to welcome you
