Ideas for the Perfect Proposal on Holiday

Published:

Proposing on holiday has always been a popular way to pop the question, and more and more people are now choosing to get down on one knee during a romantic getaway. Luxury couples holidays around the world are a fantastic way to make your proposal truly unforgettable. By the same token, a proposal is a great way to make a wonderful holiday even better.

In Sight of a Famous Landmark

If your holiday includes a trip to see a famous landmark, this can be the ideal chance to propose. Seeing a famous site or structure is something you are likely to look forward to before departing and remember long after the holiday ends, so why not make it even more memorable?

How about the Taj Mahal, the greatest monument to love? Here’s a top tip if you go slightly to the left of the shrine you’ll benefit from the same remarkable views but notably less people to infringe on your special moment.

Or a midnight viewing of the Sistine Chapel? Something we can happily arrange for any budding young Casanova.

On a Private Beach

Beaches are a popular part of many holidays. A lot of luxury beach holiday destinations have their own private stretch of seafront. This is ideal for quiet, secluded; romantic times spent relaxing and watching the waves.

Time spent on a private beach is likely to make you and your partner feel especially close. This makes them the ideal setting for a proposal. It can also be nice not to have too many onlookers.

Hotels are more than happy to whisk you away to a deserted sand bank and set up day beds and with hampers stocked full of champagne and delicious treats, she’s guaranteed to say yes!!!

At Altitude

Proposing at high altitudes is an idea that has three main advantages. Firstly, being high up usually means you have spectacular views, which make a great backdrop for an engagement. It is also an unusual, hard-to-reach setting which makes the proposal all the more memorable. Lastly, high altitudes usually afford you privacy.

There are several ways to reach a high altitude in order to propose. You may wish to propose on a mountain or hilltop, so you can propose while surrounded by the beauty of nature. Alternatively, you could propose atop some famous man-made landmark, such as the Great Wall of China or the Eiffel Tower.

Or how about a hot air balloon? Why not watch the sunrise over the UNESCO world heritage site of Bagan whilst getting down on one knee? A perfect way to start one of the most memorable day’s of your life.

At the end of a Great Day

Most people try to propose at the height of an unforgettable moment. This is certainly not a bad approach, but it can be worth doing something differently. Instead, try proposing at the end of a great day, just as you get back to your hotel room and are preparing for a lovely dinner.

Private dining at Ku De Ta, Singapore’s finest restaurant offers unrivalled panoramic views over one of Asia’s most vibrant cities.  Perfect after a full day’s touring. Or how about the Vertigo and Moon Bar on the roof of the 61 storey Banyan Tree in Bangkok – the highest open air restaurant in the world – truly unforgettable!
